Hi! Bear and Philly here! We are so excited to introduce ourselves and our company to you! Lucky Strains is a woman majority owned business and Bear has the best co-owner ever, her husband Philly. Bear and Philly are a wife and husband team that has had massive family support since they were able to start in this amazing industry when the Farm Bill passed in 2018. Matter of fact, chances are more likely then not that  you will see Granny and Pop (Bear's mom and dad) with us at events! Philly and Bear have always believed in the power of hemp and cannabinoids. Bear is a breast cancer survivor. Bear was misdiagnosed in December of 2021 after she was told that she had a cyst when she had her yearly 3D mammogram. Bear was told that it is extremely common for women to have internal breast cysts and that it was not an area of concern. When Bear went back to have her yearly 3D mammogram December 12th of 2022 she was told that her cyst had grown but that it was still not an area of concern. Bear was not comfortable with this information and moved forward with scheduling a diagnostic mammogram, ultrasound and 3 biopsies within 3 days of her yearly mammogram. Exactly 1 week after her yearly 3D mammogram Bear was diagnosed breast cancer, 19 days after her 42nd birthday. The three cancer tumors were only found because of Bear's diligence to be her own advocate for her health and to follow her intuition rather than blindly listen to the doctor when she knew inside that something was wrong. Bear had a bi-lateral mastectomy and first stage breast reconstructive surgery in February of 2023, second stage reconstructive surgery in June of 2023 and a full hysterectomy with removal of her ovaries in hopes to help prevent the reoccurrence of cancer in September of 2023. Bear has one surgery left to complete and is excited for her life. Bear is still recovering and through all of this, even in the hospital, she never once took an opioid or narcotic. Bear made the decision to avoid the severe side effects those meds can have on people and also out of respect for all the people that have been lost to opioid addiction. Bear only uses Tylenol, Ibuprofen and cannabinoids to manage her pain.  Bear also swears that the overwhelming positive support and love from her family, friends, and most of all Philly and her fur babies contributed to her fast recoveries. Bear's next surgery will happen in Spring of 2024.

Philly and Bear enjoy helping others become more comfortable with learning what benefits hemp and cannabinoids can contribute to everyone's individual endocannabinoid system and to live a lifestyle that promotes individual happiness. It's time to end the stigma surrounding hemp and cannabinoids. It's time to help provide educational information so that everyone can understand how complex and incredible these plants truly are. Bear has been using hemp and cannabinoids for years to assist her medication with managing irritable bowel syndrome, rapid cycle bipolar, nervous anxiety disorder that causes sleep issues and ADHD. Philly has been using hemp and cannabinoids for years to assist with focus, stress, creativity and childhood trauma. Hemp and cannabinoids are truly incredible when you know how and when to use them.
